Kano Pillars will be looking to end their three-game winless run in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) when they face El Kanemi Warriors at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday.
Kano Pillars have endured a difficult spell since the NPFL resumed, with their only victory coming against Enyimba. Their subsequent matches have been disappointing, with a 4-1 thrashing by Ikorodu City, a home draw against Bayelsa United, and another loss to Remo Stars.

In contrast, El-Kanemi Warriors have been in impressive form since the league restart. They have secured back-to-back home wins, defeating Enugu Rangers and Nasarawa United. However, their only away game ended in a 2-0 loss to Kwara United.
Kano Pillars are in dire need of a victory, given their recent poor form has caused them to plummet to 14th in the standings, a mere five points above the relegation zone. Additionally, they are eager to avoid suffering consecutive defeats to El Kanemi Warriors, having lost 1-0 in their previous encounter.
El Kanemi Warriors, meanwhile, are seeking to garner points that would propel them up the table. Currently, they trail Abia Warriors, who occupy a top-four spot, by just a single point. A win would not only elevate them into the top four but also leave them 10 points adrift of league leaders Remo Stars.
The availability of star player Ahmed Musa remains uncertain due to fitness concerns, which forced him to miss Kano Pillars’ recent loss to Remo Stars. Fans are holding out hope that the Nigerian legend will be fit enough to start against El Kanemi Warriors, as his presence could be crucial in securing a much-needed win.
Other NPFL matches would see Bendel Insurance host Enyimba in an attempt to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Shooting Stars who visit Kwara United aiming to reduce the gap on league leaders, Remo Stars.
