Manchester United have renewed their interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as doubts over Marcus Rashford’s future at the club continue to grow.
According to CaughtOffside, sources close to Osimhen’s camp say United have made fresh inquiries about the Galatasaray forward, who remains on the radar of both Chelsea and Juventus. The Red Devils view the 25-year-old as a priority target as they look to address their lackluster attack following Rashford’s struggles and the underwhelming impact of summer signing Joshua Zirkzee.
Osimhen’s situation is being closely monitored by Juventus, who are bracing for the potential exit of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract renewal talks remain unresolved. The Serie A giants are reportedly growing confident that they could emerge as Osimhen’s preferred destination, given his impressive spell in Italy before his surprising summer move on loan to Galatasaray.
However, Manchester United remain determined to make Osimhen the focal point of their rebuild under incoming manager Ruben Amorim. With Rashford sidelined for United’s Manchester Derby defeat and reports suggesting he could be offloaded as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cultural reset, United are pushing for significant changes in their attacking line-up. Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as a possible suitor for Rashford, though his £365,000-per-week salary limits his options.
Rashford’s absence has fueled speculation, but Amorim has kept the door open for the England international to return alongside teammate Alejandro Garnacho. “It is important—the performance in training, the performance in games, the way you dress, the way you eat, the way you engage with your teammates, the way you push your teammates,” Amorim said, underlining his commitment to high standards across the squad.
Osimhen endured a turbulent summer transfer window, with a highly anticipated move to the Premier League failing to materialize. His eventual switch to Turkey was seen as a temporary stopgap, and he now finds himself at the center of another transfer saga as Europe’s top clubs compete for his services.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remain serious contenders for Osimhen’s signature, with the club’s long-term project potentially a more attractive prospect for the Super Eagles striker. Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong had in a recent interview with talkSPORT, revealed that Osimhen is a Chelsea fan, increasing talks a move could be on the cards as early as January.
