Victor Osimhen’s next move could be on the horizon, and Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed the striker’s personal preference amid interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
Osimhen, who made history by leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years with an incredible 26 league goals in the 2022/23 season, has been one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. Despite links to top clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, a surprise move failed to materialize last summer.
Instead, Osimhen landed at Galatasaray in Turkey, but Troost-Ekong believes a move to one of Europe’s giants, particularly Chelsea, is still very much on the cards.
Troost-Ekong, speaking to talkSPORT, confirmed Osimhen’s admiration for Chelsea, hinting that a move could be on the cards as early as January.

“I can tell you he’s a Chelsea fan, I can confirm that,” Troost-Ekong revealed.
The Nigerian captain also praised Osimhen’s mentality and leadership qualities.
“He’s a great teammate. In front of goal, he can be very greedy, but he’s someone who speaks up for the team in the changing room. He’s a real leader, and I’m sure he’ll be captain soon.
“The first time he joined us in 2019, he was the understudy to Odion Ighalo, but during the training, we were so impressed.
“He always plays like it’s his last game of football, chasing down every ball and going for every header. Everything that looks like it shouldn’t be a chance, he makes it a chance. I think he’s one of the most feared strikers to play against.”
