Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong is set to return to action for Al Kholood later today in a Saudi Pro League clash against Al Khaleej at the Al-Hazem Club Stadium.

Contrary to reports suggesting that Troost-Ekong is a major doubt for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March, Bold Sports can confirm that the defender is fit and available for selection.

His absence from Al Kholood’s recent games against Al Wehda and Al Hilal had sparked speculation in some sections of the Nigerian media about his availability for the Super Eagles. However, a source close to the player has assured Bold Sports that Troost-Ekong is fully fit and expected to feature for his club later today.

The experienced center-back has been a key figure for the Super Eagles, playing in all but one of Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. His leadership and composure at the heart of the defense provide the stability the team needs during this crucial period.

In a recent interview, Troost-Ekong reaffirmed his commitment to helping Nigeria secure AFCON glory, having led the team to a runner-up finish in the last edition in Ivory Coast.
