Super Falcons striker Rasheedat Ajibade will be gearing up to protect Atletico Madrid Femenino’s unbeaten run against City rivals Real Madrid Femenino when both teams clash in a Liga F matchday 6 encounter at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano later today.
Both sides alongside defending champions Barcelona are the only unbeaten teams in the league this season and one is expected to lose their first game of the season today or have a two points deficit in their race to unsit Barcelona at the en of the season.

Ajibade has been in superb form for Atletico this season. She is joint-second on the top scorers log with three goals from five games behind Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor and also joint-second on the assists chart with two assists from five games behind Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen with three assists.

The game will be a major test for the two teams fighting to dethrone Barcelona who have won the league in the last five seasons. Las Blancas currently hold second place, having scored just one more goal than Atlético. However, recent Madrid derbies have been tough for them, as they haven’t managed a win against their city rivals in the last five meetings—suffering three losses and drawing twice.
Atletico will be hoping to repeat the feat from last season where they ran out 3-2 winners over their rivals away from home in a pulsating encounter which also saw Ajibade pen her name on the score sheet.
Ajibade is currently the league’s September Player of The month.
