Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, will be gunning for his 20th goal for Galatasaray when they host AZ Alkmaar in the second leg of their Europa League playoff clash at the RAMS Park on Thursday.
Osimhen was sorely missed in the first leg due to his accumulation of yellow cards, and his absence was felt as AZ Alkmaar thrashed Galatasaray 4-1 with goals from Sven Mijnans, Troy Parrott, Jordy Clasie, and David Møller Wolfe giving the Dutch side a significant advantage.
Galatasaray, however, will draw inspiration from their recent 2-1 win over Rizespor, courtesy of Osimhen’s impressive brace. While they will need to score more goals, the victory will boost their confidence as they will be determined to stay in the Europa League and make a deep run in the competition.

Osimhen has been crucial for Galatasaray in the Europa League, scoring five goals and providing one assist, while also netting 14 goals in the Super Lig, bringing his season tally to 19 goals in 24 matches, an impressive goalscoring form which he will be eager to continue against AZ Alkmaar.
Having previously scored against AZ Alkmaar in a 1-1 draw earlier in the season, Osimhen will aim to replicate his heroics and steer Galatasaray to their first Europa league title since the 1999/2000 season.
The winner of the tie will advance to the Europa League round of 16, where they will face either Tottenham who finished fourth in the league phase, or Manchester United who finished third.
