Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen proved to be the match-winner once again, scoring two crucial goals to help Galatasaray secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Rizespor on Monday.

Galatasaray desperately needed a win to boost their morale ahead of their Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar, especially after suffering a 4-1 defeat in the first leg. Rizespor, on the other hand, sought to secure victory, having won two of their last five games.

The first half was a tightly contested affair, with neither team able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. However, the game sprang to life in the second half, with Victor Osimhen breaking the deadlock to give Galatasaray the lead.

Rizespor responded quickly, thanks to Babajide David’s assist, which allowed Ali Sowe to level the scoreline. As the game seemed destined for a draw, Victor Osimhen stepped up once more, scoring a clinical header in the 86th minute to seal the win for Galatasaray.
