Remo Stars Ladies have secured the services of promising player Olasubomi Ogundele, who has inked her first pro contract with the “Sky Blue Stars Ladies” ahead of the upcoming NWFL season.
Olasubomi Ogundele is Remo Stars’ eighth acquisition, joining a list of recent signees that includes Kehinde Deborah, Immaculata Offiong, Macarthy Adebisi, Idehen Victoria, Fagbenro Daniella, Bashiru Kafayat, and Mary Ediga.
Olasubomi Ogundele’s versatility, having played as both a winger and attacking midfielder for Alimosho FC Ladies, will be a significant boost to Remo Stars Ladies. Her exceptional dribbling skills and expertise in set pieces will also be valuable assets to the team throughout the season.
The young talent rose to prominence at the NUGA games, where she spearheaded the UNILAG female team to victory, claiming both the Most Valuable Player and Highest Goal Scorer awards in the process. She also impressed at the FASU games, leading her team to a third-place finish.
In an announcement video shared on the club’s X account, Olasubomi Ogundele enthusiastically revealed her move to Remo Stars Ladies, expressing her delight and eagerness to join the team.
”I am beyond thrilled to announce that I am signing my first professional contract with Remo stars ladies. It’s not just a dream come true for me but the start of something amazing. I am proud to be a star,” she said.
Olasubomi Ogundele’s transfer to Remo Stars Ladies marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her career, with immense potential for growth. Her immediate goal will be to earn a starting position in the team and contribute significantly to their quest for the NWFL title.
Remo Stars Ladies finished fifth in Group B of the NWFL Premiership in the 2023-24 season. However, the new season which kicks off on January 15 presents an opportunity for the team to achieve success.
Ahead of the season, Remo Stars Ladies have been drawn into Group A, where they will face stiff competition from Heartland Queens, Abia Angels, Danaz FC, Nasarawa Amazons, Ekiti Queens, Confluence Queens, and reigning champions Edo Queens.
