Miracle Usani scored the season’s opening goal for Edo Queens before Emem Essien, fresh from her impressive continental performance, doubled the hosts’ lead.

Edo Queens maintained their momentum in the second half, with Goodness Osigwe and Loveth Edet further extending their advantage with brilliant goals. Kafayat Mafisere then sealed the dominant 5-0 win for Edo Queens with a goal in the 78th minute.

Robo Queens soar away from home

Robo Queens, Nigeria’s esteemed talent factory and 13-time Lagos FA Cup champions also made a strong start to their NWFL season as they hammered debutants Benue Queens, 5-1 at the Lafia City Stadium.

Robo Queens made a blistering start to the game, with Favour Nkwocha netting in the first minute, followed by Tosin Rafiu’s goal minutes later to establish a 2-0 lead.

Benue Queens’ Annastasia Emefo converted a 24th-minute penalty to revive her team’s comeback chances, but Robo Queens swiftly regained control as Kemi Adegbuyi scored to extend their lead.

Mariam Yahaya’s 54th-minute strike effectively ended the hosts’ dreams of a comeback, and Tosin Rafiu’s second goal of the match wrapped up a convincing win for Robo Queens.

Subomi’s debut goal propels Remo Ladies to victory

New signing Olasubomi Ogundele made a stunning professional debut, scoring a crucial goal that ensured Remo Stars Ladies secured a thrilling win over Confluence Queens in their NWFL opener.

Confluence Queens took the lead through Idayat Olanrewaju’s 25th-minute goal, but Remo Ladies’ new signing Olasubomi Ogundele, who joined just three days before the season opener, equalized with an unstoppable shot to raise the momentum of the team.

Remo Stars Ladies then took the game away from Confluence Queens with two quick-fire goals from Oluwaseyi Arubo and Olamide Bolaji to secure all three points.

Elsewhere in the league, Rukayat Shobowale’s solitary strike guided Nasarawa Amazons to a 1-0 victory over Danaz FC, while Idris Sefiat’s dramatic 95th-minute winner handed Bayelsa Queens a thrilling 1-0 triumph against Delta Queens.

Meanwhile, Seven-time NWFL champions Rivers Angels earned a hard-fought win, courtesy of Ifeoma Ikenokwalu’s 78th-minute goal, as they edged Ibom Angels 2-1. Adamawa Queens secured a 1-1 draw against Naija Ratels while Ekiti Queens defeated Hearland Queens 1-0.
