Nottingham Forest are facing the difficult task of selling out-of-form Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis due to his heavy wage demands despite interest from several EFL Championship clubs.
Dennis joined Forest in the summer of 2022 from Watford for around £10 million but has struggled to hit form. He’s made just 25 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
His last game for the club was in May 2023 and he has not been used by manager Nuno Espirito Santo since the Portuguese manager joined the club. Dennis is currently on a £4m-a-year salary, an amount that has proven to chase suitors away.

According to reports, Forest are looking to sell the Nigerian to free up much-needed finances to use towards adding more talent to a side that is currently in the Premier League title race.
Watford are currently in talks to bring back the Nigeria international but will need him to take a huge pay cut for a deal to materialise, while Sheffield Wednesday have also shown interest in signing the Nigeria international.
Dennis is not in Nuno Espirito Santo’s future plans and might not kick a ball for the Reds this season if he decides to stay at the club after the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old was on loan at Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir in the first half of last season, but his stay in Turkey was marred by injury. He was on loan at Watford during the second half of the season, where he impressed, scoring four goals in 17 championship games.
