…Nwabali misses out in men’s category
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has made the final three shortlist for the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
The Confederation of African (CAF) revealed the final three shortlist on Thursday ahead of the award ceremony next Monday.
Nnadozie who plays for Paris FC in France is competing for the best goalkeeper on the continent against South Africa’s Andile Dlamini who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns and Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi who plays for AS FAR.
The Nigerian goalkeeper hopes to retain the award she won last year, which will cement her place as the continent’s best shot-stopper.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who was in the final five shortlist of the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, missed out of the final three.
The final three has Manchester United and Cameroon’s Andre Onana, South Africa’s Ronwen Williams and Ivory Coast’s Yohia Fofana.
Nwabali was instrumental to Nigeria’s qualification for the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where they finished second.
