Maduka Okoye undergoes successful hand ligament surgery

Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has successfully undergone surgery for a broken ligament in his right hand.

The Nigerian shot-stopper revealed on Wednesday that the procedure was a success, thanking the medical team and expressing his determination to support his team while recovering.

Okoye played through the past two months despite the injury, showcasing incredible resilience.

“Surgery is done,” Okoye posted on X. “Big thanks to Dr. Pigoli and his team! Played the last two months with a broken ligament in my hand.

“For now, I’ll be supporting the team from the stands, recover and work hard for a comeback in top form! See you soon!”

Okoye has been a standout performer for Udinese this season, making 15 appearances and consistently delivering impressive saves. The club confirmed on December 7th that he would require surgery for a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist.
