Iheanacho to undergo Sevilla medical

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has arrived in Seville to undergo a medical and finalize his move to Sevilla FC.

The former Leicester City striker, who became a free agent after his contract expired, is set to join the La Liga side on a free transfer. The club officially confirmed Iheanacho’s arrival in the Spanish city on Tuesday.

“Kelechi Iheanacho is already in Seville to undergo medical examinations and, if all goes well, become a new Sevilla player,” the club said in a post on X.

Iheanacho, who spent nine seasons in the English top flight with Manchester City and Leicester City, helped the Foxes secure promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Despite interest from other European clubs, he has opted for a reunion with compatriot Chidera Ejuke at Sevilla.

If the medical is successful, Sevilla will officially announce the signing of the Nigerian international on Wednesday. Iheanacho will then join his new teammates for pre-season training as they prepare for the 2024/25 campaign.
