The Royal Aces Basketball Club have secured a significant boost ahead of the 2025 NBBF Women’s Basketball League season, with Udueyin Ruth and Onajomo Ogheneochuko re-signing with the team on a one-year contract.
Ruth and Ogheneochuko played pivotal roles in the Royal Aces’ impressive performance last season, helping the team achieve a top-four finish in the league while participating in the prestigious Louis Edem Foundation West African Basketball Invitational Championship.
Their return to the team strengthens the Royal Aces’ ambition for the upcoming season, as their contributions on both offense and defense were instrumental in the team’s success.

Notably, Ogheneochuko rejected offers from multiple rival clubs to remain with the Royal Aces, demonstrating her faith in the team’s ability to compete for a continental spot.
With the deals sealed, and with the extension of Olusegun Ojo’s contract as well as the appointment of Adetokunbo Ijomah as the new team manager, the Royal Aces are ready to make a strong statement in the upcoming NBBF Women’s Basketball League, which tips off in April, aiming to improve on their past performance and challenge the league’s elite teams.
