Samuel Chukwueze marked his return from injury in dramatic fashion, scoring a stoppage-time winner as AC Milan came from behind to defeat Parma 3-2 at San Siro on Sunday.

The Nigerian winger struck in the 95th minute, completing a stunning late turnaround after Tijjani Reijnders had equalised moments earlier.

It was the first time in Serie A history that Milan won a match after trailing, with two goals coming from the 90th minute onwards.

Parma started brightly and took the lead in the 24th minute when Matteo Cancellieri capitalised on a defensive slip by Theo Hernández. The winger curled a fine strike past Mike Maignan for his third Serie A goal of the season. However, Milan responded before halftime through Christian Pulisic, who converted a penalty in the 38th minute to restore parity.

The visitors regained the lead in the 80th minute when Enrico Delprato reacted quickest to a rebound inside the box, sliding the ball home after Milan failed to clear a save from Maignan. The goal put Parma on the brink of their first league double over Milan since the 2013/14 season.

With the game slipping away, Milan mounted relentless pressure in the closing stages. Their efforts were rewarded in the 92nd minute when Yunus Musah played in Reijnders, who beat the offside trap and found the bottom-right corner for his sixth Serie A goal of the season.

Just three minutes later, Milan completed the remarkable comeback. A corner from the right found Strahinja Pavlović, who nodded the ball down into the box. Chukwueze, showing sharp reactions, used his thigh to guide the ball over a sprawling goalkeeper and into the net for his second Serie A goal of the season.

The San Siro erupted as Milan secured three vital points, keeping them within touching distance of the league’s top spots.

The victory ended a concerning run of home draws for Milan and prevented them from suffering back-to-back Serie A defeats. For Parma, it was a heartbreaking result, as they came close to achieving a rare away win against the Rossoneri.
