Daniel Ogunmodede who has been in charge of the Super Eagles B has named an 18-man squad for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against the Black Galaxies of Ghana.
30 players from the Nigerian Professional Football League had been training in the Remo Stars sports institute in Ikenne, however, only 18 would travel to Ghana for the pivotal clash following several training sessions and six friendly wins in six games.
The squad features experienced Kano Pillars midfielder, Rabiu Ali, and Remo Stars attacker, Sikiru Alimi. The captain of Ikorodu city, Waliu Ojetoye, also made the squad as well as Nasarawa United defender, Victor Collins.
Henry Ozoemena of Enyimba FC and Remo Stars’ Kayode Bankole are the two goalkeepers who would represent the nation while Nurudeen Badmus was dropped from the traveling squad.
Nigeria will take on Ghana in the 40,000 capacity Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 22nd December, with the reverse leg set for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, 28th December. The winner over two legs will earn a spot in the African Nations Championship holding in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
