Nigerian international Akor Adams has arrived in Sevilla to undergo medical tests, marking a crucial step towards completing his transfer from French side Montpellier.
As part of the transfer agreement, Akor Adams will commit to a four-year contract with Sevilla, tying him to the club until 2029. The transfer fee, reportedly €5.5 million, has been agreed upon by both clubs.
The signing represents Victor Orta’s second acquisition of the January transfer window, following the earlier capture of attacking midfielder Ruben Vargas from Augsburg. The new additions aim to inject fresh energy into Sevilla’s struggling campaign.
Sevilla’s current season has been underwhelming, with the team sitting 11th in the La Liga standings with 27 points. A recent humiliating 4-1 defeat to Almeria in the Copa Del Rey has only added to the pressure but the club hopes that the influx of new talent will help turn their fortunes around.
Following the successful completion of his medical tests, Adams will be officially unveiled as a Sevilla player. He is expected to make his debut for the club when Sevilla travels to face Getafe on Saturday.
