Women Basketball League: Amihere commends Royal Aces on top 4 finish

Perth Lynx and Atalanta Dream Basketballer, Laeticia Amihere has congratulated Abuja based Basketball club, Royal Aces on their top four finish in the 2024 NBBF Zenith Bank Women Basketball Premier League which took place in Lagos.

The tournament which held from the 9th of October to the 15th of October, 2024 saw MFM Queens successfully defend their title by defeating Royal Aces in the semifinals before winning Nigeria Customs to clinch the coveted trophy for the second year running. In the third-place match, nine-time league winners First Bank Women’s Basketball team edged out Royal Aces 46-45 in a thrilling encounter.

Despite the fourth place finish, Amihere maintained that it is an amazing achievement that should make the team proud of themselves: “I want to say a quick congratulations, I heard you finished top four and that is an amazing accomplishment, I hope you are very proud of each other,” the Olympian said.

“Take the time to thank your coaches, your friends, your family and everybody who supported you to get to this moment but just know that the work is not done,” she added.

Amihere also shared some words of wisdom with the basketballers of Royal Aces, urging them to push beyond their limits and strive for greatness: “I know the season did not end the way you wanted it to, but I know that next year, with perseverance, hard work, and determination, you will get to where you need to,” she preached.
