Victor Boniface netted his first UEFA Champions League goal as Bayer Leverkusen secured a 1-0 victory over AC Milan, marking their second win of the 2024/25 campaign at the BayArena on Tuesday night.

Boniface, who shone in their 4-0 triumph against Feyenoord two weeks earlier, thought he had given Leverkusen the lead in the 21st minute, only for VAR to rule his effort offside.

However, the Super Eagles striker finally found the back of the net in the 51st minute, pouncing on a rebound after Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan’s save fell into his path. The goal proved decisive, sealing Leverkusen’s victory.

This was Boniface’s fifth goal of the season across all competitions. Leverkusen’s home dominance continues, extending their unbeaten run in European competitions to 10 matches, with seven wins and three draws.
