The highly anticipated UFC middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis is confirmed for UFC 305 in Perth, Australia on August 17th.

Adesanya announced the fight on social media with a symbolic message: “Africa’s sun shines on us all. It sets and rises again, guiding us. Embrace its warmth, for darkness follows its absence.”

The all-African matchup adds heat to the already intense rivalry, with both fighters vying for the title of “true African champion.”

Adesanya’s shocking loss to Sean Strickland in 2023 opened the door for Du Plessis to claim the middleweight title after defeating Strickland earlier this year. This fuels Adesanya’s desire for a grudge match against the South African.

Adesanya has been diligently training, hinting at a more aggressive fighting style focused on domination rather than just winning the belt.
