Ademola Lookman and Atalanta will be eager to break their five-game winless streak when they face Austrian side Sturm Graz in their crucial UEFA Champions League matchday seven encounter at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
The Italians are yet to win a game in 2025 and will be hoping to get the maximum points against the Austrians, who have recorded just one win and five losses in the opening phase of the Champions League.
Atalanta are currently in the playoff spot, two points off the automatic round of 16 places, and a win will be helpful in not just closing the gap but also helping them regain confidence after a slump in form.
Lookman, who was on target in La Dea’s 3-2 loss to Napoli over the weekend, will be hoping to help his side get back to winning ways later tonight. The Nigerian international has been in form in the Champions League, scoring three goals in five appearances. He also has one assist.

Manager Gian Piero Gasperini will be banking on Lookman and Mateo Retegui to deliver the goods and help them win their first game of the year. However, he is wary of the Austrians.
“It’s a Champions League match, we haven’t closed the qualification issue yet, the game could be a decisive day,” Gasperini said in a pre-match press conference.
Sturm Graz? Last year we played two balanced matches, we won 1-0 at home, some players have changed. They are a team that is first in their country, they are all very balanced matches, they have only taken three points, but in all the matches they have lost by a narrow margin.”
“I don’t underestimate Sturm Graz, I’ve never done that. It’s something we won’t do tonight either.”
