Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team secured a 3-2 victory over NPFL outfit Sunshine Stars in a friendly game played on Wednesday.
The friendly match served as a warm-up for the Super Eagles B team ahead of the CHAN tournament, which was recently postponed to August 2025 over infrastructure delays.
On the other hand, Sunshine Stars utilised the friendly to fine-tune their squad’s preparation ahead of the resumption of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on January 25.
Newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, was in attendance at the friendly match, having previously paid a visit to the squad on Tuesday.
While the game was a tightly-contested affair, goals from Isaac Saviour, Anas Yusuf, and Ikouwem Utin propelled the Super Eagles B team to a thrilling 3-2 victory.

With the postponement of the African Nations Championship, the home based players will now return to their respective clubs as they prepare for the resumption of the league.
Sunshine stars, on the other hand, will continue to prepare for a pivotal second half of the season where they hope to avoid relegation under the guidance of new head coach, Abubakar Bala.
