Real Sociedad and Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar is close to joining Valencia on a loan deal that extends until the end of the season.
According to Oma Akatugba who confirmed the impending deal on his official Twitter page: “Documents are currently being exchanged between Valencia and Real Sociedad. Medicals will take place as soon as possible. There is a 9 Million euros option to buy on the deal for Valencia.”
With 11 games in all competitions and just two starts in the La Liga, Sadiq Umar has struggled for consistent game time this season. He has failed to score a goal since the season began and his only assist came against Anderlecht when he was substituted by half time.
After finishing 9th in the La liga last season, Valencia are now languishing in 19th position in the league. Their struggles have come majorly due to their poor form in front of goal as they have only scored 16 goals this season, the third joint worst attacking output in the division.
With the loan signing of Sadiq Umar, Valencia can be able to have a target man who can significantly improve the team going forward and consequently help in propelling them out of the relegation zone.
While he would definitely not be signed in time for their next game against Real Madrid, Valencia would hope the deal can be completed in time for their Copa Del Rey fixture against Eldense and the next league match against Sevilla.
