Red-hot Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen delivered a stellar performance, netting twice in Galatasaray’s commanding 5-1 victory over Kayserispor in their final Turkish Super Lig game of the season.
The win solidifies Galatasaray’s position at the top of the league table, extending their lead to eight points over second-placed Fenerbahce and maintaining their unbeaten record after 16 games.
Osimhen opened the scoring for the visitors from the penalty spot in the 4th minute, but Kayserispor equalized 10 minutes later through Stephane Bahoken. Galatasaray regained their lead in the 29th minute when Baris Alper Yilmaz found the net, ending the first half 2-1 in favor of the visitors.
The second half saw Galatasaray dominate, scoring three unanswered goals. Yunus Akgün made it 3-1 in the 51st minute, and Osimhen grabbed his second of the match in the 71st minute. Shortly after, the Nigerian was substituted for Metehan Baltacı, missing the chance for a hat-trick.
Yilmaz sealed the rout with his second goal in the 87th minute, ensuring a comprehensive victory for the defending champions.
Osimhen’s brace brings his tally to 12 goals and five assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray. Impressively, the Nigerian star has scored nine goals and provided nine assists in just nine starts this season, cementing his status as one of the league’s most prolific players.
