Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored for Galatasaray in the Europa League, but his side was denied victory as Dynamo Kyiv staged a dramatic comeback to earn a thrilling 3-3 draw on Tuesday.

Galatasaray entered the match boasting an unbeaten Europa League streak, whereas Dynamo Kyiv were eager to finally give their fans a reason to celebrate, having suffered six consecutive defeats in the competition.

Galatasaray dominated the early stages of the game, with Davinson Sanchez and Abdülkerim Bardakci finding the net within the first 22 minutes to establish a comfortable 2-0 advantage for the Turkish outfit.

Just as it seemed Galatasaray would cruise into the break with a two-goal cushion, Vladyslav Vanat struck just before halftime, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

Galatasaray regained their momentum shortly after the restart, as Baris Yilmaz won a penalty, which Victor Osimhen coolly converted to restore his team’s two-goal advantage.

In a stunning turn of events, veteran forward Andriy Yarmolenko emerged as the hero for Dynamo Kyiv, scoring two crucial goals within a 14-minute span to dramatically erase the deficit and level the score with just eight minutes remaining.

Despite Galatasaray’s relentless pursuit of a winning goal, Dynamo Kyiv’s defense held firm, allowing the visitors to secure a hard-fought point in the Europa League, a result that ended their six-game losing streak in the competition.

Regardless of the underwhelming outcome, Galatasaray can take solace in Victor Osimhen’s outstanding display, as he netted his 15th goal of the season and extended his impressive streak of contributing at least one goal contribution in five consecutive matches.

The draw sees Galatasaray move to fifth place in the Europa League standings with 13 points from seven games, a position that would secure automatic qualification to the round of 16.

Galatasaray will now shift their focus to domestic duties, aiming to bounce back from this setback with a win in their upcoming Super Lig clash against Konyaspor, a result that would also help them maintain their cushion over second-placed Fenerbahçe.
