Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen scored his 10th goal of the season as 10-man Galatasaray maintained their invisible run in the league by coming from behind to defeat Sivasspor 3-2 in a breathtaking encounter at BG Group 4 Eylul Stadyumu, Sivas, on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward who had not scored in his previous two Super LigCh matches led the attack with former teammate, Dries Mertens supporting him in the attacking midfield role. Baris Yilmaz and Yunus Akgun started in the left and right wing respectively.

The Champions were dealt a significant blow in the early stages of the match. as center-back Metehan Baltaci was handed a straight red card in the 15th minute. They then trailed in the 25th minute courtesy of Garry Rodrigues’ clinical finish.

However, the Cape Verdean’s joy was short-lived as he committed a costly mistake that allowed Yunus Akgun to level the score-line 10 minutes later. Victor Osimhen completed the comeback in the ninth minute of added time of the first half, converting a penalty with a right-footed shot beyond Djordje Nikolic to make the score-line 2-1.

Few minutes into the second half, Baris Yilmaz extended the lead as he received a pin-point through-pass from Yunus Akgun before cutting back and firing a well-struck shot into the net.

Goalscorers, Yunus Akgun and Victor Osimhen were substituted in the 74th minute for Victor Nelsson and Mitchy Batshuayi as Bulent Uygun sought to freshen up the team in preparation for their Europa League match against Malmo FF. The home team scored a late goal courtesy of Bekir Boke, however, Galatasaray held on to secure the win.

With the win, Galatasaray are now unbeaten in 17 consecutive matches in all competitions. They also remain invisible in the league, with 12 wins and two draws in 14 games. They sit first with 38 points in 14 games, six points ahead of 2nd-placed Fenerbache.
