Given Nigeria’s stronger position on paper, many pundits anticipate the Eagles to claim all six points in the doubleheader and solidify their path towards another AFCON appearance. In a recent interview with Modzero Media, Aina expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to achieve this goal.

“We have to go there and win the first game, then go to Libya and win the second. We hope to come out with six points by God’s grace,” Aina stated.

His recent performances have attracted attention from fans who may not have been previously familiar with his game. He has been hailed as one of the most underrated defenders in the league, particularly after his impressive displays against Luis Diaz in the win over Liverpool and against Jadon Sancho in the draw against Chelsea.

The former Chelsea academy player revealed that he enjoys being the underdog in games, as it allows him to focus on his defensive duties without undue pressure.

“I don’t know why my game is underrated, but I think that’s how God wants it. For me, it’s the best way because I can just do my thing quietly and go about my business,” he explained.
