Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was named the Man of The Match as Nigeria defeated South Africa 4-2 on penalties to qualify for the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Chippa United stopper saved two penalty kicks to end the hopes of the Bafana Bafana of lifting their second AFCON title.
Before the game Nwabali had only conceded one goal in the competition, against Equatorial Guinea in the opening game which the Eagles drew 1-1.
Despite conceding late in the game from a Teboho Mokoena penalty, the South African-based keeper was solid at the back, saving many goalscoring opportunities.
When the game went into penalties, he was the hero, saving kicks from Mokoena and Mihlali Mayambela to ensure that Nigeria qualified for the final with a chance to win their fourth AFCON title.
