Nasarawa United has announced the signing of eight new players, bolstering their squad ahead of the second half of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season, which kicks off on January 25.

Nasarawa United’s first half of the season was nothing short of disastrous, with a dismal record of just five wins, plunging them into a relegation battle. To make matters worse, they suffered 10 defeats and shipped a staggering 24 goals, the joint worst in the league.

The recent signings are a strategic move to escape the relegation zone as with 19 points in 19 games, the solid miners are currently at the bottom of the table, but just 2 points behind Sunshine Stars, who sit 16th.

The addition of the eight new players is aimed at strengthening their squad and making a push for survival in the second half of the Nigerian Professional Football League season.

The new signings include talented players such as Benson Abbey, Peace Dewan, Abubakar Aliyu, Solomon Chigozie, Peter Eneji, Ugochukwu Leonard, Benjamin Jack, and Onyema Emmanuel.

Nasarawa United is set to kick off the second half of the NPFL season with a home match against Katsina United on January 25 hoping for a good start after the previous encounter between both teams ended in a 1-0 loss for the solid miners in their last game of the year.
