Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars have reappointed Mohammed Baba Ganaru as their interim head coach for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.

According to a club statement released by the club’s media director, Uja Emmanuel, the club’s chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, explained that the reappointment was necessary due to the resignation of the previous Technical Adviser Daniel Amokachi, and the team’s current position in the NPFL table.

He also appealed to fans for continued support, saying, “Everything we do at the moment is for the good of our beloved club. While we welcome criticisms, they should be constructive and aimed at enhancing our performance. Let us remain steadfast in our support, knowing that with God, nothing is impossible.”

Dr. Nongu expressed confidence in the new coach, who had previously managed Lobi Stars, and assured that the management would provide him with the necessary support to ensure the club retains its NPFL status.

Lobi Stars are currently struggling at the bottom of the league table with 23 points from 25 games, five points behind Plateau United, who are just outside the relegation zone. The team have also been on a dismal eight-match winless streak, scoring only four goals during that period.

With their next game against Niger Tornadoes in Bauchi this Wednesday, the new interim coach will be looking to make a positive start by securing a victory, which could boost their hopes of staying in the league.
