Shooting Stars maintained their impressive unbeaten streak at home as they defeated Kano Pillars in a comfortable 2-0 win at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Saturday.

The Oluyole Warriors are one of five teams that have not lost at home this season, winning six games and drawing twice prior to their clash against Kano Pillars. Meanwhile, the away team had not won on their travels since defeating Bendel Insurance early in November.

The game was tied until few minutes before half time when Joshua Akpan met a brilliant cross with an emphatic header into the back of the net to give the hosts the lead. They doubled their advantage in the 78th minute courtesy of Adam Mustapha’s goal to send the home crowd into a frenzy of excitement and celebration.
