Ime Udoka once again showcased his coaching prowess, guiding the Houston Rockets to a thrilling 91-90 victory over the Golden State Warriors. This narrow win propels the Rockets into the NBA Cup semifinals.

The Rockets will face a formidable challenge in the semifinals as they take on the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in Las Vegas on Saturday. The winner of this matchup will advance to the final, where they’ll meet either the Atlanta Hawks or the Milwaukee Bucks.

While star guard Jalen Green struggled, Alperen Sengun emerged as the hero, leading the Rockets with 26 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and 5 assists. Jabari Smith Jr. contributed 15 points, and Amen Thompson added 10.

The Warriors, despite efforts from Jonathan Kuminga (20 points), Steph Curry (19 points), and Buddy Hield (15 points), fell short by a single point.

Sengun expressed his pride in the team’s performance and their determination to win the NBA Cup. He emphasized their readiness to battle the Thunder in the semifinals:

“I’ve never seen my team this hungry. We knew it would be tough, but we were ready. Our goal is the championship. We’re going to fight hard against OKC.”
