Anadolu Efes forward, Jordan Nwora, has declared himself one of the best scorers in Europe, also expressing his ambition to become one of the continent’s top players.
This remark follows his team’s impressive victory over defending champions Panathinaikos, where Nwora’s scoring prowess was on full display.
The former Milwaukee Bucks player, who joined Anadolu this summer, is experiencing a learning curve in adapting to European basketball. However, his shooting ability has already impressed his teammates, with captain Shane Larkin describing Nwora as one of the continent’s best shooters.
“I think I’m one of the best scorers in Europe,” Nwora told Eurohoops. “Our team (Anadolu) is very talented. Every player can step up in every game. Shane can be on fire in a game, he’s one of the best players in the league. Dan (Oturu) is having a good season too… We have players on the team who can step up every night. That makes it even better.”
Nwora acknowledged the challenges of adapting to the European style of play, which differs significantly from the NBA. He credited Larkin for providing valuable guidance, drawing on his own experiences of transitioning to European basketball.
“He (Shane) helps very well. He shares his thoughts. He said that he experienced what I am experiencing right now, during his first year in Europe. He also knows that once he adapts, he will be very good. We talk every day, we work together in training.”
Nwora expressed unwavering confidence in his ability to become a top player in Europe once he fully adjusts to the game’s unique demands.
“The basketball here (in Europe) is a lot different than what I’m used to. I’m still trying to adapt. I think once I figure it out, I’ll be a great player in this league. I have a lot of confidence in myself.”
