Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheneacho was on target as Sevilla recorded a convincing 3-1 win over UE Olot in the Copa Del Rey on Thursday.

The home team drew the first blood, surprisingly winning a penalty in the 17th minute following a foul by Lucien Agoume which they failed to convert as Alvaro Fernandez made a brilliant save to deny Chema Moreno.

Five minutes after the miss, Sevilla got a penalty of their own courtesy of a handball by Pedro Del Campo. However, unlike the home team, Gonzalo Montiel calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner to give Sevilla the lead. Few minutes after half time, “Los Hispalenses” doubled their lead as Juanlu Sanchez scored his second goal of the season.

With the game all but won, Kelechi Iheneacho’s brilliant movement was spotted by Stanis Idumbo who expertly fed the ball to the Nigerian for a tap-in in the 73rd minute to seal the win for Sevilla.

The goal was Iheneacho’s third of the season, all coming in the Copa Del Rey. He will hope to replicate his cup form in the league as he seeks to gain a starting spot in Sevilla’s team. Sevilla will visit Atletico Madrid in their next game as they attempt to continue their three game unbeaten run.
