Galatasaray President Duran Ozbek has addressed speculation regarding Victor Osimhen’s potential departure, stressing that the Nigerian striker is committed to the club until the end of the season.
Recent reports have linked the Super Eagles star with moves to top European clubs, fueling rumours that the 25-year-old could leave ahead of the summer transfer window. Ozbek, however, dismissed these claims, citing the terms of Osimhen’s loan contract with Napoli.
“He is our player this season. There is a very difficult clause for him to leave at mid-season. According to our agreement, he will play for us until the end of the season,” Ozbek told A Spor.
He also added that Osimhen has the final say on his future. “No one should sway him. He will make his own decision at the end of the season. If he wants to continue at Galatasaray, he can,” he added. “Don’t be misled by the perception that he will leave. He is very happy here in Turkey and at Galatasaray.”
The reigning CAF Player of the Year has been in impressive form since joining Galatasaray on loan, scoring six goals and providing three assists in the Turkish Super Lig. He has also excelled in the Europa League, contributing three goals and an assist.
Galatasaray currently leads the Turkish Super Lig, three points ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahce.
