League leaders Galatasaray will need star player Victor Osimhen, on top form, as they prepare to face off against second-placed Fenerbahçe in a crucial top-of-the-table clash at the RAMS park on Monday.

Galatasaray are looking to bounce back from their disappointing Europa League campaign, where they were eliminated by AZ Alkmaar with an aggregate scoreline of 6-3. The team’s European aspirations were dashed, and they will be eager to make amends in the domestic league.

On the other hand, Fenerbahçe, led by the experienced Jose Mourinho, are on a remarkable 15-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, an impressive run that has seen them close the gap on Galatasaray to six points, qualify for the Europa League round of 16, and advance to the third round of the Turkish Cup.

In their previous encounter, Galatasaray defeated Fenerbahçe 3-1, with Victor Osimhen providing an assist for the second goal. However, Fenerbahçe won their last match at the RAMS park 1-0, courtesy of a goal from Carglar Söyüncü.

A loss for Galatasaray would not only reduce their lead to three points but also end their impressive unbeaten streak in the Super Lig. The Turkish champions have secured 20 wins and three draws in 23 matches, showcasing their dominance in the Super Lig.

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been a standout player for Galatasaray, scoring 14 league goals in 18 matches, averaging a goal contribution per game while being the team’s highest goal scorer. His impressive form has been crucial to Galatasaray’s success, and they will rely on him to deliver once again against Fenerbahçe.

With new signing Alvaro Morata ruled out with a hamstring injury and Mauro Icardi out with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, Victor Osimhen is the only senior striker available for Galatasaray, adding to the pressure on the Nigerian to perform.

However, Osimhen is no stranger to pressure, over the course of his career he has consistently risen to the challenge, scoring important goals to achieve major feats for club and country.

Due to the high stakes and recent controversy surrounding the league, the governing body has taken the step of appointing Serbian referee Slavko Vinčić to officiate the pivotal match between the two title contenders, aiming to ensure a fair and impartial outcome.
