Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingos intensified their World Cup qualifier preparations with a resounding 10-0 victory over ANWFCC ALL Stars at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Wednesday.
The Flamingos’ dominant win was their second friendly match, following a 6-1 thrashing of Nakamura FA, with goals from Chisom Nwachukwu, Chidi Harmony, Queen Joseph, and Shakirat Moshood securing the victory on that occasion.

Highly-rated striker, Chidi Harmony continued her impressive scoring form, netting in the 13th minute and adding her fourth goal in two friendly games with a brilliant finish in the 30th minute. Shakirat Moshood and Queen Joseph also picked up where they left off from the previous game, with both players scoring to secure a 4-0 lead at halftime.
The second half saw the Flamingos unleash a goal-scoring frenzy, with Shakirat Moshood scoring her second goal five minutes after the break before Chidi Harmony completed her hat-trick in the 63rd minute, increasing the score to 6-0.
Temilade Fafore joined the scoring spree, netting two goals within three minutes. Shakirat Bashiru added another goal in the 85th minute, and Anuoluwapo Awotidoye sealed the 10-0 victory with a rebound after a point-blank save by the opponent’s goalkeeper.
The convincing win is expected to boost the team’s confidence ahead of their highly anticipated two-legged qualifying clash against South Africa’s U17 girls, scheduled for March 7-16.
