Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru came on to register his fifth goal of the campaign as Lazio cruised past Monza 5-1 at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Lazio, boasting a strong run of form with only one defeat in their previous five Serie A matches, entered the contest as heavy favorites against a struggling Monza side that had managed just one league win since November.
Lazio quickly established control, taking the lead in the 31st minute through Adam Marusic’s goal, which sent the home crowd into a frenzy and set the stage for an exciting contest.
The match burst into life in the second half, with Lazio unleashing a flurry of goals. Pedro Rodriguez struck in the 57th minute to make it 2-0, and just six minutes later, Valentin Castellanos added a third, leaving the scoreline at 3-0 in favor of the hosts.

Lazio’s convincing victory propels them to fourth place in the Serie A standings with 45 points from 24 matches, leapfrogging Juventus who now sit outside the top four, two points adrift.
Meanwhile, Monza remain rooted to the bottom of the table in 20th place with 13 points, facing a significant eight-point gap to Empoli, who hover just above the relegation zone.
Lazio’s next challenge is a high-stakes showdown at home against league-leaders Napoli, while Monza seek a much-needed win against Lecce to revive their survival hopes.
