Nigeria’s Federation Cup champions, El Kanemi Warriors, have been drawn against Benin Republic’s Dadje FC in the 1st preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The draw took place at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, with 40 clubs competing for a spot in the 2nd preliminary round.
El Kanemi Warriors, recently promoted to the Nigeria topflight league, will face a challenging encounter against Dadje FC, who narrowly missed out on the Benin Republic topflight league title. If they overcome this hurdle, they will face a strong test against Morocco’s RS Berkane in the next round.

To have a chance to advance to the next round, El Kanemi must recruit effectively and get back in match shape quickly, as the 1st Preliminary Round’s First Leg is scheduled for August 16-18, with the return leg taking place between August 23-25, 2024.
Nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba, who were drawn bye and exempted from the 1st preliminary round, will face the winner of the match between Hafia FC of Guinea and Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso in the 2nd preliminary round.
Enyimba will play their 2nd Preliminary Round games between 13 – 15 September for the first legs, while the return legs to confirm the draw for the Group Stages will be played between 20 – 22 September 2024.
