Dubem Amene, Esther Joseph win 400m national titles

Dubem Amene and Esther Elo Joseph on Tuesday, won the men’s and women’s 400m national titles at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Dubem Amene crossed the line in 45.44s to win his first national title ahead of Emmanuel Ojeli who ran a Season’s Best time of 45.69s in second. In third place was Dubem Nwachukwu in another Season’s Best time of 46.70s.

Sikiru Adeyemi was fourth in 46.42s while Badmus Gafar with 46.92s was fifth. Chidi Okezie and Samson Nathaniel were fifth and sixth in 47.13s and 52.99s respectively.

In the women’s race, Joseph beat veteran Patience Okon-George to the finish line in a time of 51.70s, with Okon-George running 51.76s.

Imaobong Nse-Uko was third in 52.04s while Omolara Ogunmakinju finished fourth in 52.15s.
