Nigerian striker David Okereke is on the radar of Italian Serie A side Cagliari, who are looking to strengthen their attack ahead of a feisty survival chase.
Cagliari are 18th on the Serie A log with four wins, six draws, and 10 losses in 20 league games this season. The club have only been able to score 19 goals in 20 games this season and needs a striking reinforcement to have an edge in their fight for survival.
The Islanders have turned their attention to Okereke, who is currently having a good stint in the Turkish Super Lig with Gaziantep, on loan from Italian Serie B side Cremonese.

The 27-year-old has been prolific for Gaziantep, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 13 games. His impressive performance could see the Turkish side activate a permanent deal for the striker. Okereke joined the club on a season-long loan deal in the summer with the option of making the move permanent.
According to rainews.it, Cagliari sporting director Nereo Bonato is looking to complement the efforts of striker Roberto Piccoli, who has scored five goals in 20 league games.
Okereke’s name, according to the report, has popped up in the boardroom conversation, and they are hoping they can lure him back to Italy, where he has had a lot of experience with several clubs, including Venezia, Torino, Cremonese, and Spezia.
