Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze scored twice as AC Milan demolished Sassuolo 6-1 at San Siro on Tuesday, December 3 to qualify for the quarter finals of the Coppa Italia.
AC Milan tactician Paulo Foncesca started Chukwueze on the right wing alongside Ruben Loftus Cheek who started in the attacking midfield and Rafael Leao in the left wing. Former Chelsea and Roma striker, Tammy Abraham led the attack.
The onslaught began in the 12th minute as Chukwueze was played through by a fortunate deflection before firing a close-range shot against the right post. Fortunately, the ball bounced straight back to him, and he made no mistake in slotting it into the net for 1-0. 5 minutes after the opener, in-form midfielder, Tijani Reijnders doubled the Rossoneri’s advantage with an unstoppable shot to the left side of the net.
Barely 3 minutes after Reijnders goal, Chukwueze made matters worse for Sassuolo as he received a well-timed pass from Tammy Abraham, opened his body up, and curled a first-time shot past the helpless Giacomo Satalino to make the score line 3-0. Rafael Leao then joined the party as he received a no-look pass from Loftus Cheek and calmly slotted the ball in for the fourth goal.

With the game all but won, Foncesca rung the changes as he introduced four new players in an attempt to rest the starters for upcoming matches. Despite the changes, Calabria got in on the act in the 56th minute to score the fifth for Milan. Sassuolo struck back to reduce the deficit courtesy of Samuele Mulattieri but Tammy Abraham hit the sixth just three minutes later to complete the thumping victory.
While Milan will celebrate their comfortable victory, it is also a night to laud Samuel Chukwueze on his 50th game for the Rossoneri. While he has not been able to consistently start for the Italian side, he has been a valuable addition since his move from Villareal. With the brace, the Nigerian International now has 3 goals this season, and he will be looking to add more in the coming weeks.
