D’Tigers forward Chima Moneke recorded a double-double to power Baskonia to a 78-74 win over Forca Lleida in the Spanish Liga ACB, while Chimezie Metu also impressed in the colours of FC Barcelona Basquet in the 95-90 win over Ucam Murcia on Sunday.
Moneke, who was in the starting lineup for Baskonia, was a standout player, scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists in the narrow win over Lleida, a performance that showcased his offensive and defensive prowess.
The win was Baskonia’s ninth of the season. It also saw them move to 10th on the Liga ACB table as they continue their push for a playoff place at the end of the season. The club will be hoping to avoid the fate that befell them at the end of last season when they finished 9th on the table after 34 games.

At the Palace of Sports Murcia, D’Tigers power forward Chimezie Metu contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, and one assist for FC Barcelona Basquet in the 95-90 victory over UCAM Murcia on Sunday.

The win was FC Basket’s 10th of the season, which sees them sit sixth on the table after 18 games. Kevin Punter led Barca with a team-high 20 points. Dario Brizuela added 19 points while Tomas Satoransky dropped 16 points, four assists, and three rebounds in the win.
UCAM’s Simon Birgander dropped a game-high 25 points while Honah Radebaugh added 24 points, but it was not enough for Ucam as they suffered their 10th loss of the season.
