Chelsea are positioning themselves to capitalize on potential changes at Bayer Leverkusen next summer, with Stamford Bridge scouts urging head coach Enzo Maresca to pursue Nigerian striker Victor Boniface.

GIVEMESPORT sources reveal the Blues are keen to secure Boniface as part of their long-term strategy to boost their attacking options.

Despite spending over £200 million on reinforcements before the August transfer window closed, Chelsea are already planning for future acquisitions. While Marc Guiu was one of their summer signings from Barcelona, the club is looking to add more firepower to support forwards like Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku as they aim to compete for top honors.

Boniface

Boniface, 23, has caught the attention of Chelsea scouts due to his impressive performances with Bayer Leverkusen, where he has played a key role in their Bundesliga title defense. He has scored five goals in eight appearances this season, including a decisive goal in Leverkusen’s Champions League win over AC Milan.

Although Boniface has expressed reluctance to move to the Premier League, Chelsea are not ruling out making a formal approach in the summer. GMS sources suggest the Blues are monitoring the striker’s situation closely, as Leverkusen could face a major overhaul at the end of the season, potentially opening the door for Boniface’s departure.

Leverkusen remains in a strong negotiating position, with Boniface under contract until 2027 and earning around £32,000 per week. The German club reportedly values the forward at £70 million, which could be a stumbling block for a January transfer.

However, Chelsea may wait until the summer to launch a bid, given the striker’s importance to Leverkusen’s current campaign and the club’s reluctance to sell mid-season.
