Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface is back in training after recovering from an injury that kept him out for almost a month.
The Nigerian international suffered a muscle injury while on international duty with the national team, however he was pictured training with his teammates looking sharp and ready to reclaim his spot and help Leverkusen who are on an amazing run of form with seven wins in a row in all competitions.
Prior to his injury, Boniface had been impressive for Leverkusen, recording eight goals and one assist in 15 games in all competitions, and showcasing his importance to the German club on and off the pitch.
In his absence, Xabi Alonso utilised Patrik Schick who scored five goals in three games before getting injured himself. Alonso then adopted Nathan Tella in a false nine role which led to the Nigerian scoring the lone goal to defeat Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal before recording an assist to defeat Augsburg in their recent Bundesliga win.
In their next match, the defending champions will host Freiburg at the BayArena, Leverkusen, as they attempt to maintain their winning run and put more pressure on league leaders, Bayern Munich who are 4 points above them.
