Championship side Blackburn Rovers completed their transfer deadline day business with the loan signing of Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis from Nottingham Forest.

Emmanuel Dennis was Blackburn Rovers’ third signing on transfer deadline day, joining Yuri Ribeiro from Braga and Cauley Woodrow from Luton Town at the club.

The 27-year-old Nigerian International has a proven track record as a prolific goal-scorer. His senior career began with Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk, where he scored on his debut in 2016. He also gained valuable experience playing in the Europa League against top-tier teams.

Dennis’s impressive form at Zorya Luhansk earned him a move to Belgian side Club Brugge in 2017. He continued to find the back of the net, scoring 19 league goals in 85 games for the club.

After a loan spell in Germany with FC Koln, Emmanuel Dennis joined Watford in 2021. He enjoyed a successful stint at Vicarage Road, scoring 10 Premier League goals in 30 starts. His impressive form caught the attention of Nottingham Forest, who signed him in 2022.

At Nottingham Forest, Dennis continued to play regular Premier League football, scoring against top teams like Aston Villa and Newcastle United. He later had loan spells with Istanbul Basaksehir and Watford before joining Blackburn Rovers on loan.

Emmanuel Dennis, who has eight caps for Nigeria, will now aim to revive his goalscoring form at Blackburn Rovers. His signing is the club’s sixth of the January window as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
