Leon Balogun and Cyriel Dessers combined to great effect as both players found the net in Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
Balogun, who came off the bench, made an instant impact with a towering header in the 83rd minute to double Rangers’ lead. The defender later provided a perfect assist for Dessers, who calmly slotted home the third goal in stoppage time, sealing the win.
Rangers had earlier taken the lead through Hamza Igamane, who punished a defensive blunder by Sivert Heltne Nilsen with a composed finish. The hosts dominated proceedings, with Aberdeen goalkeeper Ross Doohan making crucial saves to deny Igamane and Danilo.
Aberdeen struggled to find a foothold, with their best chances coming from Leighton Clarkson’s audacious halfway-line attempt and Kevin Nisbet’s failure to connect with Graeme Shinnie’s cross.

The win cuts Celtic’s lead at the top to 13 points, while Aberdeen’s dreadful run continues with 12 games without a win. For Rangers, the Nigerian duo of Balogun and Dessers proved decisive in getting their season back on track.
