After a three-game absence due to a groin injury, Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme is poised to make his comeback for Trabzonspor against Kasimpasa on Friday.
The 35-year-old, who rejoined the club this summer after a stint in Saudi Arabia, has yet to recapture the magic of his previous spell. During his first tenure, he was a prolific force, scoring 47 goals and providing 41 assists in 149 appearances.
However, since his return, Nwakaeme has struggled to make an impact, failing to score or assist in six league games.
Trabzonspor, currently languishing in 12th place and enduring a poor run of form, will be hoping that Nwakaeme’s return can spark a turnaround.
Nwakaeme was seen in full contact training with his teammates on Monday and is expected to play a part on Friday. While it remains uncertain whether he will start the match, his inclusion in the squad will undoubtedly boost the team’s morale.
