Alex Iwobi’s contributions at Fulham have gone beyond the typical goals and assists, making him one of the club’s key creative players in the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Since his arrival from Everton last year, the 28-year-old has emerged as a vital part of Marco Silva’s setup.

Though his Premier League career totals just 26 goal contributions across 160 matches since his departure from Arsenal, Iwobi’s value to Fulham is evident in his passing and playmaking abilities.

This season, primarily playing on the left wing, his performance has stood out, as highlighted by Sky Sports data.

Iwobi leads the league in open-play passes into the box, recording 21 so far—the highest in the Premier League. He ranks fifth for open-play chances created with 14, and his expected assists from open play (1.54) place him sixth overall. His involvement in shot-creating actions (34) puts him ninth in the division, while his 62 progressive passes rank him 14th across the league but first among wingers.

Iwobi’s creative play is not just making waves in the Premier League but also across Europe’s top leagues. His 21 open-play passes into the box are only surpassed by Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, placing Iwobi in elite company this season.

Despite often being a target for criticism earlier in his career, the Nigerian international is now showing his quality consistently at Fulham. His ability to unlock defenses and create opportunities is proving essential to Fulham’s strong start to the season.

For a player who has often flown under the radar in terms of attacking output, Iwobi’s contributions are now pivotal as Fulham aim to push higher up the Premier League table.
