Super Falcons defender Blessing Demehin has signed for Turkish side Galatasaray on a one-year deal.

The club announced Demehin’s signing on its website on Monday.

The 22-year-old joined the Turkish side after her contract expired with French side Reims.

The club wrote on its website, “Galatasaray Petrol Ofisi signed a one-year contract with professional football player Oluwatosin Blessing Demehin.”

Demehin started her career at Akure-based Sunshine Stars before moving to Rivers Angels FC where she joined Reims.

She was part of the women’s U-20 national team Falconets that reached the quarter-final of the 2022 Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica before becoming an integral part of the Super Falcons.

She was in the Falcons squad to the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand where they lost to England in the Round of 16 after defeating co-hosts Australia and playing draw against Canada and Republic of Ireland.

She was also part of the Falcons squad that took part in the recent Paris 2024 Olympics.

She will wear the No. 4 jersey at the Turkish side.

Demehin joins Galatasaray a month after Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen moved on a season-long loan from Serie A side Napoli.
